CONTENT TYPE FAQ
What does each content type mean?
Content Type describes the creative purpose of the work. It is separate from technical details such as aspect ratio, duration, resolution, or whether an asset is a loop.
Animation +
Motion-led visual work where animation, movement, atmosphere, or visual rhythm is the primary creative purpose. A piece can be a loop without the word “loop” being its Content Type.
Narrative +
Short-form storytelling or microfilm in which the progression of the scene, character, or idea is the primary purpose. Narrative work may be vertical or landscape and does not need to be a loop.
Commercial +
Advertising-oriented visual storytelling, including slice-of-life scenes, spec commercials, or work designed around a product, service, brand idea, or campaign-style communication. A Commercial can also be a short loop.
Editorial +
Visually driven work built around mood, culture, fashion, atmosphere, music, or editorial storytelling rather than a direct advertising objective. Editorial pieces can also be short-form loops.
CONTENT TYPE ≠ FORMAT
Content Type tells you why the work exists. Format tells you how the work is delivered or behaves — for example, Loop or Microfilm, alongside aspect ratio, duration, and resolution.
